Senior Principal Scientist (Scientist F) and Coordinator ENVIS (Environmental Information System) at the Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding (IFGTB), Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India, Coimbatore. Has 27 years of experience in forestry research. Recipient of the National Award of Excellence for Outstanding Research in Forestry by ICFRE and Rolla S Rao Award for the best research on biodiversity conservation. Was the KALA PRATHIBHA (most talented male artist) of the Kerala Agricultural University for FIVE years. With a doctoral degree in Forest Genetics, he is the first rank holder for both BSc and MSc degrees in Forestry from KAU. Composed music for the Theme Song, Kadarivu of the Kerala Forests and Wildlife Department, sung by the renowned playback singer P. Jayachandran. Composed and sung Prakruthi Vandanam, an invocation on nature in Sanskrit based on Yajur Veda for MoEFCC. Also has composed and sung several light music. Presented music programmes in AIR and Doordarshan and many live Music Concerts. Plays Mrudangam, Guitar, Harmonium, Harmonica, and Idakka.
